Rockstar Games has confirmed that French electronic duo Justice composed the original soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto 6, ending months of speculation about the musical direction of one of the most anticipated entertainment releases of the decade. The announcement accompanied the game's official launch trailer, a 90-second clip that introduces players to co-protagonists Lucia and Jason as they navigate the streets of Vice City.
The trailer is soundtracked by Justice's new single «Flower In A Hurricane», a collaboration featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The track will also appear on «Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album», a 34-track collection of original music written specifically for the game. While the full tracklist remains under wraps, nine songs have been revealed so far, including contributions from Travis Scott, Cardi B, Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards, Fuerza Regida, and a joint effort between CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy.
The game's narrative, according to a press release, follows Jason and Lucia as they find themselves «on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida». The pair are described as having «always known the deck is stacked against them», and after an easy score goes wrong, they are forced to rely on each other more than ever to survive.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on November 19. The launch trailer marks the most detailed public look yet at the title, which Rockstar has been developing for years. The confirmation of Justice's involvement places the duo alongside a growing list of high-profile musical contributors, reflecting the series' long tradition of curating culturally significant soundtracks that blend established acts with emerging artists.
Beyond the soundtrack, Rockstar has also detailed changes to how players will experience in-game audio. The first six in-game radio stations were confirmed last week, with hosts including Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Robyn, and Slayer's King Kerry and Tom Araya. For the first time in the franchise's history, players will be able to access on-demand podcasts within the game, and listening will not be restricted to vehicles. Developers explained that «both radio and podcasts are available to listen to on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to smartphones».
The scale of the project has also prompted Rockstar to address the future of the franchise. In an interview, Rockstar's Phil Hooker said the follow-up to Grand Theft Auto 6 would not take another eight years to release, citing the infrastructure built during this development cycle. «The engine, the tools and the team we've built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly,» he said. «I feel confident that we can build on top of this and go more sideways than upwards to build more compelling content.»
The album and soundtrack represent a significant convergence of the music and gaming industries, with original compositions increasingly used to extend a game's cultural reach beyond its interactive audience. Justice's involvement, in particular, signals Rockstar's intent to appeal to electronic music fans alongside its traditional player base, while the roster of featured artists spans hip-hop, country, Latin, rock and pop. The full tracklist for «Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album» is expected to be confirmed closer to the game's release.
