Comedians Christopher Jackson and Anthony Veneziale take on the role of experts on the pom pom crab in a short video from Nature PBS. The clip is part of a recurring series in which popular comedians pretend to know the rare and unusual animals of the world, while viewers are invited to check what the performers get right and what they get wrong.
The format is built like a game show. Each round features a different animal and ends with a playful "prize," and the comedians' confident claims about the creature's biology and behavior are meant to be tested against the viewer's own knowledge. The pom pom crab, which the series presents as one of its unusual subjects, gives the pair a fitting subject for mock expertise.
The series appears on Nature PBS's social channels and is released as a regular feature, with new episodes arriving each Tuesday. Viewers are asked to suggest future animals or comedians to appear in later matchups, inviting audience participation in choosing the next subjects.
The video is intended as entertainment that also draws attention to the natural world. By pairing comedy with accurate or inaccurate claims about species that many people have never encountered, the format encourages viewers to think about how much they know about the animals around them and to look up the facts behind the jokes.
