Microsoft has confirmed the second wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass this September, adding 13 new games to the subscription service across its Premium, Ultimate, and PC tiers. The announcement follows an earlier batch of six titles that arrived at the start of the month, including Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and RuneScape: Wilds.
In a blog post, the Xbox team framed the lineup around variety and social play. «Whether you're delving into the Dungeons a second time, surviving the chaos of Emergence Day with Bravo Squad, or just biking through the ultimate obstacle course, we have a bunch more games ready for you and some friends,» the post read.
Several titles are available now for Premium subscribers and will roll out to Ultimate and PC members shortly. These include RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Planet of Lana 2, Routine, and Ultimate Sheep Racoon. The staggered release gives Premium members early access before the games reach the higher tiers.
Later in the month, Kernel Hearts and Ninja Gaiden 4 arrive on September 17 for Ultimate and PC subscribers, with Ninja Gaiden 4 also available to Premium members. Dune Awakening follows on September 22 for all three tiers, while Well Dweller launches the same day for Ultimate and PC. Mad King Redemption lands on September 23 for Premium, Ultimate, and PC.
The month closes with two major additions. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 arrives on September 25 for Premium, joining Ultimate and PC. Minecraft Dungeons 2 launches on September 29 for Ultimate and PC subscribers. The wave extends into October with Keeper on October 2 for Premium, joining Ultimate and PC, and Gears of War: E-Day on October 6 for Ultimate and PC subscribers.
At the same time, a number of games are set to leave the service. Subscribers have until September 30 to play Atomfall, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition, Little Rocket Lab, Sifu, SOPA, Tale of the Stolen Potato, Sworn, and Terminull Brigade before they are removed.
The announcement also addressed recent reports that Microsoft was planning significant changes to the Ultimate tier, including the removal of cloud gaming and an end to day-one releases being included in the subscription. A Microsoft spokesperson told Forbes that those rumors are unfounded. «We regularly test different Game Pass offerings and look at what works best for players in different markets,» the spokesperson said. «We don't have any changes to announce today or plans that have been finalised. There are no changes to previously announced games coming to Game Pass Ultimate on day one.»
The confirmation offers reassurance to subscribers who rely on the Ultimate tier for immediate access to major releases. Microsoft's testing of different offerings suggests the company continues to evaluate its strategy, but no finalized changes are imminent.
