Astronomers Identify First Known Green Star, a White Dwarf Turned Chartreuse by Planetary Debris
A team led by the University of Warwick has documented WD J1330+6435, a white dwarf 280 light-years away in Draco whose sodium-rich atmosphere absorbs orange light and leaves a chartreuse glow, the first confirmed green star. The survey of 151 white dwarfs also found a salmon-pink carbon star and showed that stellar remnants span nearly the entire color spectrum.
