The robot is built to cover the final stretch of a delivery route, roughly the last 330 feet to a customer's door. Each of its four legs ends in a wheel, allowing R-dog to roll efficiently across flat sidewalks. When terrain becomes more difficult, the articulated legs are designed to help it climb stairs, cross high curbs and navigate other obstacles that often force wheeled delivery robots to stop.
The cargo compartment forms most of the robot's body and can carry food orders and standard e-commerce packages. says the compartment can hold multiple items, including stacked orders.
