In the United States, Florida Senator Rick Scott unsuccessfully urged the Tampa Sports Authority to cancel West's two June shows, and the mayor of San Antonio failed to get his July 4 show at the Alamodome scrapped. More recently, a stadium in Russia announced that two planned West gigs in St Petersburg «cannot take place.» Those shows, scheduled for October 10 and 11 at the Gazprom Arena, had sold out within hours of being announced last month and would have made West one of the first major artists to perform in Russia following its 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
The reunion with Big Sean adds a rare moment of reconciliation to a tour otherwise defined by controversy and logistical turmoil.
