Organizers of the XXXIV International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce have opened a second exhibition hall to house delegations who have refused to leave the premises since the first day of the fair. The new wing, hastily assembled from prefabricated panels and military surplus tents, contains cots, field kitchens and a permanent queue for the charging stations.
«We planned for visitors, not for residents,» said fair director Marek S., standing in what was a loading dock until Thursday morning. «By noon on day one, the first delegations had unrolled sleeping bags between the armoured vehicles. By evening, three ministries had requested permanent office space and a fourth asked about postal delivery.»
The fair's second hall now houses delegations from twelve countries who have declared their intention to remain until every contract on the floor is signed. A canteen serving around the clock has been installed, and a field hospital has been placed on standby after several negotiators were found asleep inside a tank turret. Prime Minister's visit on day two was rerouted through the new wing after his advance team could not reach the main hall.
«We have asked the delegations to rotate,» said deputy director Anna K. «They responded by forming a working group to study the feasibility of permanent residence. One delegation has already requested that the hall be connected to the municipal heating grid before winter.»
Organizers have announced that the fair will now run indefinitely, with a third hall under consideration for the families of the delegates.
