In response, Adinolfi has announced the launch of a daily prison column, dictating his first dispatch to a fellow inmate who transcribed it on a contraband smartphone.
«I am the first Italian in history to be imprisoned for writing,» Adinolfi declared in a statement posted to his blog before his internet access was cut. «Therefore I demand a dedicated broadband line and a public reading room where visitors may watch me compose. I will file three essays per day, each no shorter than a thousand words.» Prison authorities have reportedly assigned two guards to monitor his output and have begun converting a storage closet into a media center.
The prison director, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Adinolfi has requested a lectern, a standing desk, and a daily delivery of espresso. «He insists on reading his posts aloud at 6 a.m. over the prison intercom,» the director said. «We are negotiating a compromise: he may read one paragraph per meal.»
Fellow inmates have reportedly formed a queue outside his cell each morning, hoping to be mentioned in his column.
