Alfa Romeo 8C and Tesla Cybertruck Share Lawn at Italian Concours

A Tesla Cybertruck appeared alongside an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione at the Festivalcar event in Santena, Italy, highlighting the contrast between the electric pickup and the V8 grand tourer.

A Tesla Cybertruck parked beside an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione at the Festivalcar event in Italy has drawn attention for the stark contrast between the two vehicles. The pairing, spotted on the lawn of the Castello Cavour di Santena, placed the polarising American electric pickup next to a car widely regarded as one of the most beautiful production models ever built.

The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was introduced in concept form in 2003, with the production version arriving in 2007. Its curves, designed under the guidance of Wolfgang Egger, reference the 33 Stradale and sit on a shortened Maserati GranTurismo chassis. A Ferrari-sourced V8 is mounted in a front mid-ship position. The Tesla Cybertruck, by contrast, entered production in 2023 after its 2019 concept debut. The full-size pickup features a stainless steel body composed of straight lines and flat surfaces, and is available with a tri-motor setup producing up to 845 hp.

The Cybertruck was the odd one out at the Italian Concours d’Elegance, effectively crashing a gathering dominated by classic and exotic machinery. While some observers saw the photo as a stainless steel appliance parked next to a real car, others viewed it as a demonstration of the variety that exists in the automotive world. The pickup appeared to have been designed with a ruler, while the grand tourer is a genuine sculpture.

The 8C was not alone in representing Alfa Romeo. It was joined by several family members, including the 2uettottanta concept, the 4C, the Giulia GTAm, the Giulietta Sprint, the Spider and the original Giulia. The event also gathered a long list of Ferraris such as the 275 GTB/4, the F50, the F355, the 512 TR, as well as the modern Amalfi and 849 Testarossa. The Luce skipped the event.

Among the Lancia models on display were a Stratos HF, a Flavia Coupe and an Aurelia B20 GT. More than a few Maseratis were present, alongside the Bertone Runabout concept and a Lamborghini Miura that turned heads in the narrow streets of Revigliasco Torinese before being joined on the lawn by a purple Revuelto.

Beyond the exotics, visitors could examine the original Fiat Topolino from 1936 alongside the modern heavy quadricycle bearing the same name. An official video even offered a glimpse of the Topolino-based Top L speedster, a one-off created by Lapo Elkann and Fabrizio Giugiaro. Italian brands may have had the upper hand in representation, but classics from other regions were also present, including the Jaguar E-Type and a few examples of the original Porsche 911. A black Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI was parked right next to the F50, and the limited-production Nissan GT-R 50 blended Japanese craftsmanship with Italian design.

The 2026 edition of Festivalcar thus brought together an unusually broad cross-section of automotive design, from mid-century Italian coachbuilding to contemporary electric vehicles. The sight of the Cybertruck beside the 8C Competizione served as a reminder that the event’s appeal lies not only in celebrating established beauty but also in showcasing the extremes of modern car culture.
