LOS ANGELES — Amazon MGM Studios converted the Neagley Season 1 press day into a mandatory eleven-hour relay across Los Angeles on Tuesday, requiring Maria Sten, Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones and Adeline Rudolph to remain in character while sprinting between interview stations, and ordering showrunner Nick Wootton to follow the entire route on a bicycle with a megaphone.
The studio described the format as «a natural extension of the show's commitment to forward motion.» Each cast member was assigned a lane on Sunset Boulevard and instructed to answer questions only while running, with a support vehicle trailing at walking pace to collect dropped microphones. Sten completed the first six miles before requesting water, which was denied on the grounds that «Neagley does not hydrate on camera.»
By the fourth hour, the production had erected a temporary grandstand outside a taco truck, where Jones and Rudolph were required to perform their characters' backstories as a two-person stage play while jogging in place. A crowd of roughly three hundred onlookers gathered, many of whom were later recruited as background extras and paid in branded sweatbands.
Wootton, pedaling behind the group, told reporters that the day had been «the most honest press event of my career» and confirmed that future seasons would be promoted exclusively through ultramarathons. At press time, Holt was still running, and the studio had begun selling tickets to the finish line.
