USR arrived at the Cotroceni consultations with a human algorithm: a chain of party delegates arranged in a corridor, each one holding a laminated card that told the next delegate whether to reject, support, or call for early elections. The first delegate, a software engineer from Cluj, refused to speak to any PSD representative until the representative physically stepped onto a square marked «REJECT».
By noon, the corridor had grown to include a rotating premiership simulation. A delegate playing the role of a technocrat prime minister had to remain standing in the same spot while two different coalitions formed and dissolved around him. The PNL and UDMR delegates were handed timetables that required them to switch sides every forty minutes. «We are not being difficult,» a USR negotiator said. «We are simply executing the position as written.»
The presidential administration had to install a whiteboard at the end of the hallway to track which branch of the algorithm was currently active. At one point, a PSD delegate attempted to enter the corridor and triggered a loop that sent him back to the entrance six times. The consultations ended when the final delegate reached the «SUSTINE(alegeri_anticipate)» card and refused to leave the building until the president personally acknowledged the output.
