Roxanne Perez is stepping away from The Judgment Day's usual united front and into a career-defining opportunity. The WWE star will compete in a fatal four-way match at Night 1 of Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas, with the winner earning a shot at the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at Worlds Collide later this month.
The match marks Perez's first Triplemania appearance, the premier showcase for the AAA roster. She will face La Hiedra, Faby Apache and Natalya in a contest that could finally deliver the championship gold that has eluded her within The Judgment Day faction.
Perez is the only woman in The Judgment Day who has yet to win a title, a fact that has fueled her decision to pursue an opportunity outside the main roster. While her stablemates Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez have captured championships, Perez has watched from the sidelines. Rather than wait for another opening, she chose to cross into AAA, which is now part of WWE.
«I think they know that I got this,» Perez said of Morgan and Rodriguez, who were absent from her corner ahead of the contender match. «I think they know that I came all the way over here to take an opportunity for myself.»
She described her mindset as one of refusing complacency. «The Prodigy doesn't stay comfortable,» she said. «So what did I do? I came all the way to AAA to get a championship of my own.»
The journey represents a full-circle moment for Perez. At 16, she received an invitation to train and compete in AAA, but her parents were not supportive of the move. She ultimately declined the chance. Now, years later, she is seizing the same opportunity on her own terms.
«I'm taking my opportunity and I'm not asking for permission from anybody,» Perez said. «I'm so excited to be here and also to just represent my culture. I am Mexican and I'm Puerto Rican, so to be able to represent that and be here as a main roster WWE superstar, it's really exciting.»
Perez acknowledged the difficulty of the match, calling it a big task against legends in different aspects of the industry. She praised La Hiedra's deep knowledge of AAA, Natalya's trailblazing career in WWE's Divas era, and Faby Apache's status as a legend in Lucha Libre.
«I have a lot on my plate right now, but it's nothing that The Prodigy can't overcome,» she said. «If anybody thinks that I'm just gonna let this opportunity slip away, I've been waiting for one opportunity and I finally have it and I'm not gonna let it slip through my fingers.»
Triplemania 34 Night 1 begins at 10 p.m. ET at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Night 2 takes place Sunday at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. Both events will stream on YouTube.
