Bentley has confirmed that its upcoming Torcal electric SUV will become the company's most powerful production car and its quickest-accelerating model ever. The British marque revealed the details in its latest round of teasers ahead of the vehicle's official unveiling, confirming that the new SUV will deliver 850 hp from a dual-motor electric drivetrain.
The power figure dethrones the Continental GT Speed, which produces 771 hp and remains the brand's most potent combustion-engined model. Bentley says the Torcal will accelerate from 0-60 mph in under three seconds, while its top speed will be electronically limited to 155 mph. The company also released new teaser images showing a portion of the bonnet, front wing and A-pillar, which suggest a design language reminiscent of the smaller Bentayga, along with a shot of the boot lid featuring the winged 'B' logo.
The Torcal is built on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which also underpins electric models from Audi and Porsche. The platform uses 800-volt technology, and Porsche's Cayenne Turbo Electric has already demonstrated outputs of up to 1,139 hp on the same base. Bentley's decision to position the Torcal at 850 hp appears to be a deliberate attempt to frame its performance credentials in the context of its luxury identity rather than engaging in a raw power race with its corporate cousin.

This component-sharing approach is standard practice across the group's premium electric vehicles, allowing Bentley to develop its first EV efficiently while maintaining its own character through calibration and refinement.
The interior is expected to be one of the main differentiators from its platform siblings. Bentley has confirmed the Torcal will feature Ombre wood trim, 100 per cent Merino wool upholstery — described as a world first for a production vehicle — and a curved infotainment system. The cabin is designed to reflect the brand's heritage of craftsmanship while incorporating modern technology.
Other confirmed features include air suspension, four-wheel steering and active anti-roll bars, all aimed at delivering the comfort-focused ride quality that Bentley customers have come to expect.
