BMW has introduced a comprehensive range of M Performance Parts and accessories for the redesigned 2027 X5, giving the crossover a more aggressive appearance and expanding its practicality. The accessories were released to coincide with the launch of the new model, which was unveiled this summer.
The most visually significant upgrades come from BMW M Performance Parts. At the front, customers can specify carbon fibre grille inserts and a carbon fibre front splitter. At the rear, the package includes a gloss black spoiler and carbon fibre flow blades on both sides of the diffuser. A sportier diffuser made from aramid is also available, offering a carbon-like appearance. The same aramid material is used for the optional M Performance mirror caps.
Completing the exterior enhancements are wheels ranging from 21 to 23 inches, carbon fibre tail pipe finishers and a selection of M Performance exterior graphics. Inside, the X5 can be fitted with M Performance sill plates and floor mats.
For the V8-powered M Performance variant, BMW is offering an M Performance sound silencer system. However, due to European regulations, this feature will only be available outside Europe.
Practical additions include a new series of aero roof boxes, which are larger than their predecessors and offer improved aerodynamics. They are available in three sizes: 12.4, 15.9 and 19.4 cubic feet, equivalent to 350, 450 and 550 litres. A rear cycle carrier is also offered, which can be combined with a storage box providing 10.6 cubic feet, or 300 litres, of space. Without the storage box, the carrier can transport up to three bicycles.
Further accessories include interior mats and roof rack attachments for carrying bikes, skis and snowboarding equipment. Front seatback attachments are also available, including a smartphone and tablet holder as well as a tray with a cup holder.
The 2027 X5 itself was introduced earlier this summer with a redesigned exterior that drops traditional door handles in favour of wings, and the lineup includes a 435-mile electric iX5 variant. The new accessories are designed to allow owners to personalise the vehicle across both combustion and electric versions.
BMW has not announced pricing for the individual components, but the range is expected to be available through authorised dealers and the company's M Performance Parts catalogue. The accessories are aimed at buyers seeking a sportier aesthetic or additional carrying capacity without compromising the vehicle's aerodynamics.
The launch of the accessories follows BMW's broader strategy of offering extensive personalisation options across its model range, particularly for its high-performance M models and their M Performance counterparts. The 2027 X5 is the latest model to benefit from this approach, with the carbon fibre and aramid components designed to reduce weight while enhancing the vehicle's visual presence.
