Daft Punk and Lego Unveil Pyramid Set, Launch Multi-Platform Partnership

Lego and Daft Punk have announced a multi-platform partnership whose first release is a fan-designed set recreating the duo's iconic 2007 Alive Tour pyramid stage, with more themed products and content promised.

Daft Punk and Lego have launched a multi-platform partnership, and its first release is a building set recreating the pyramid stage the French electronic duo used on their 2007 Alive Tour. The collaboration was announced in a promotional video in which minifigures of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo discover a holographic red brick and follow it through a dark landscape.

The pyramid design has a long history with Lego fans. It was first submitted in a 2020 competition that asked entrants to create music-themed builds. The Daft Punk pyramid won that contest and was subsequently confirmed by the brand to be moving into full development. The set now serves as the centerpiece of the wider partnership.

«The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk's visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership,» said Cédric Hervet, Daft Punk's creative director. «Fans have always played an important part in Daft Punk's story, and we are excited to see that creativity reflected through the Lego universe.»

Julia Goldin, Lego Group's chief product and marketing officer, said the collaboration works because both the toy company and the duo continually «inspire generations through creativity, innovation and a deep connection with fans.»

Lego has said the pyramid set will be the first of several Daft Punk-themed releases. The company described the broader plan as bringing «the duo brought to life in new ways across the Lego brand, through a mashup of surprising events and content that crosses music, culture and creative spaces.» Specific details about the follow-up products and experiences remain vague.

The partnership also extends beyond the brick. A short film collaboration set to the duo's 2005 single «Human After All» is part of the multi-platform push, spanning product, content and brand experiences. The announcement arrives roughly six years after the fan design was first submitted.

This is not the first time Daft Punk have appeared in Lego form. In 2024, the duo featured as minifigures in the animated documentary «Piece by Piece,» a Pharrell Williams-led project that also included Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes rendered in Lego.

Daft Punk split in 2021 after 28 years together. Both members have discussed the necessity of the breakup, with Bangalter saying he was relieved by how the band ended. Earlier this year, the duo marked five years since the split with a new video for «Human After All,» but Bangalter ruled out a reunion, saying there were still «other things to explore» away from Daft Punk. Reports have since emerged that the duo turned down an offer to create the soundtrack for «GTA 6,» before fellow French electronic act Justice accepted.

The Alive Tour pyramid remains one of the most recognizable stage designs in electronic music, and its translation into Lego form gives the duo's visual legacy a new life in the toy aisle. For Lego, the partnership adds another music-driven collaboration to a portfolio that has increasingly drawn on pop culture franchises and artist-driven designs.
