Yves Tumor will no longer appear on Turnstile's ongoing tour after sexual assault allegations surfaced against the musician last month. The artist, whose real name is Sean Lee Bowie, had been booked as a supporting act on three dates of the Baltimore hardcore band's North American run.
The allegations first emerged on the Yves Tumor subreddit, where images of a bruised woman were posted alongside text from a user who alleged that he had «sexually assaulted someone close to me last week.» The post prompted further accusations. Artist Angel Money said on X that he had «groped» her on camera. Another artist, Kidä, who contributed vocals to the Yves Tumor song «Lovely Sewer» from his album «Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume» and toured as part of his band, described her experience working with him as «one of the most disrespectful professional experiences of my career.»
Yves Tumor responded to the allegations at the time, writing on his Instagram story that they were «100 per cent untrue and also completely heartbreaking.» He added that he would be «taking extreme legal action.» The post was deleted shortly afterwards.
Turnstile's tour, announced in June, features a rotating lineup of openers including Clipse, Ceremony, Thundercat, Slayyyter, Hatebreed, and Vince Staples. Yves Tumor had been scheduled for three shows: September 12 in Toronto alongside Saya Gray and Pluto's Kiss, September 26 in Portland, Maine, with Fiddlehead, and September 29 in Raleigh with Angel Du$t and Agnostic Front.
Canadian hardcore punk band No Warning took the Toronto slot on September 12. Tampa death metal group Obituary have been announced as the replacement for the Raleigh date, while Dinosaur Jr. will join the Portland show.
The allegations against Yves Tumor are part of a broader reckoning in the music industry, where artists and fans have increasingly used social media to surface misconduct claims. The accusations against Bowie, a critically acclaimed experimental musician known for albums such as «Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume» and «Heaven to a Tortured Mind,» have circulated widely online since they first appeared.
